Through the lens of a pupil - a day of home learning

Dear Parent / Carer

We have prepared some presentations to help enable you to have more of a informed idea of what a day in the life of a Hyndland Secondary pupil should look like, during this school closure.

In this presentation we show how the various aspects of our provision fit together and include:

How pupil may engage with their teachers through:

  • Live lessons
  • Live drop-in sessions with their teachers
  • Live one to one session with their teachers where required
  • Live assemblies
  • Live sessions with their Pastoral Care Teacher
  • Engagement with their teachers through the chat functions of Teams and / or Show My Homework, to receive feedback during lessons and when they engage with the work that has been set by teachers which they need help and support with
  • How departments enhance engagement through recorded lessons and / or narrated power point presentations
  • How pupils upload their work and receive feedback from their teachers via Teams, Show My Homework or emails

Within our provision there is flexibility with regard to how and when pupils engage with their work and this is an important part of our provision. This should be clear from the attached presentation.

We hope these presentations are helpful for families.

The presentations can be accessed on our school website as follows:
