Welcome to our family learning area which aims to provide advice and support to parents/carers on how they can support learning at home.
Below is some important information on how families can use Teams at home to support the completion of homework and learning. We have asked all young people to share their Teams calendar with their family members - this will mean that families can see the homework being set in school.
DIGITAL STRATEGY AND SUPPORTING HOMEWORK USING TEAMS - NOVEMBER 2022:
Please find attached some important information about our digital strategy for this session. The main points of information for families are:
*We are now moving to using only one digital platform - Microsoft Teams.
*Microsoft Teams will be used to share homework tasks with young people. Any time a homework task is issued, it will appear in a young person's Glow calendar.
*If families complete the task on page 2 of the attached document (sharing the young person's calendar with their parent/carer), it will give families an overview of the homework that their young person has been issued by teachers. This will hopefully help to families to support their young people with the completion of homework.
*On Tuesday 1st November, all staff will deliver a presentation to young people regarding this. if any family has struggled to complete the task on page 2 of the attached document, if your young person can come to school that day with a note of a parent/carers email address, staff should be able to help them with this task.
Our plan is to create a short video that will be available on our school website to show the steps of sharing a calendar. There is also already a lot of information on the website which may be helpful on how Teams works. These can be found under Parents - Supporting Digital learning - pupil iPads.
We hope the attached information is helpful and we do feel that the decision to streamline the use of our digital platforms, should help to make things easier for both our young people and families. We will continue to seek your views on this during this session and beyond.
