S3 and S4 core time information for parents - Session 2017-18
During this session S3 and S4 students will undertake planned learning during core time each week.
S3 Core Time:
The programme for S3 will consist of blocks of learning which the students will attend in rotation. These blocks of planned learning include a focus on the STEM subject areas (Science, Engineering, Maths and Technology). During the 2 blocks of STEM based learning the students will develop their skills in a range of practical situations. The students will also attend 2 blocks of learning focusing on Languages for Life and Work with a focus on Spanish. This will not only benefit the students as they develop their literacy skills but will also ensure each and every learner in S3 is studying a Modern Language up to the end of S3 as per Scottish Government guidelines. S4 Core Time:
The programme for S4 will include 4 parts namely; Mindsets, Study Skills, Financial Education and Subject Study Support. We are confident that these 4 areas of focus will help equip our S4 learners for their preliminary and final examinations which they will undertake in S4.
