The CERN 2017 team departed on Wednesday 8th Feb 2017. Twenty eight pupils from S5 and S6 were accompanied by Mrs Hayes, Mr Swan and Mr Mullin in what has become an annual trip to Geneva in Switzerland. The pupils visited the United Nations in Geneva, The International Red Cross Museum, had a sightseeing tour of Geneva and spent the day at CERN - the European Centre for Nuclear Research. In advance of the tour, we welcomed former pupil, Matthew Citron, to the school on Monday 6th Feb to share his experiences about working at CERN while completing his PhD. The group also met up with former pupil, Alison Tully, while in Geneva. Alison is in the first year of her PhD and is working at CERN.
